Laughter under the sun!
This summer, join TheaterSport & Improv Utrecht in the park for an evening of laughter, play, and creativity. Throughout the whole summer, we meet at the Griftpark to enjoy casual improv games, connect with new people, and make the most of the warm evenings.
Every Friday from 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM!

If you like games and laughter, this is totally for you!
Unlike regular drop-ins or improv courses, improv sessions at the park is not led by a teacher, but by everyone participating. Improv games are suggested and explained on the spot, and we welcome both regular improvisers and unexperienced newcomers.
The event is English-based.
Questions and verifications are always welcome and you are always welcome to take a break if anything feels too much for you in the moment. The sessions are run in a safe-space where we respect each other’s boundaries and do our utmost to make sure that everyone has a great time and feels empowered to take risks and try new things.
The park is wheelchair accessible. During the session, you are free to share if you have any injuries or limitations that people should be mindful of. Overall, we avoid unwanted physical contact with people we are not familiar with. Your personal well being is the most important thing and we will do our utmost to ensure a safe space. You are also free to leave the session at any moment for any reason.
If you are ill and possibly contagious we kindly ask you to stay home.
There is no registration procedure to sign-up at these summer sessions. Feel free to drop-in whenever you want, alone or with friends.
The improv at the park takes place at the Griftpark, Van Swindenstraat 129, 3514 XR Utrecht. The meeting point is a standing pillar with red and yellow blocks (See picture above).
By bus, the closest stop is Kleinesingle, accessible via bus 5 or 55.
By bike, you can park next to the bus stop, in front of the pillar.
By car, the nearest parking garage is “Parkeergarage Grifthoek“.
The improv sessions take place from 24th of July until 28th of August included.
Every Friday from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. As we approach the end of summer and lack of sunlight, the time may be slightly adapted.
Free! Forever! No excuses!
Apart from your smile and playful spirit, we recommend wearing comfortable clothes. The sessions aren’t very physical, but we do move around the space and sit on the grass while watching scenes.
Some trees provide shade, but feel free to bring a bottle of water, sunscreen, a fan, or anything else that helps you stay cool and protected from the sun.
If the session happens on a rainy day or if the grass is still wet, it is useful to bring a plastic bag or picnic blanket.
Yes, we do have a Whatsapp group to join the community and be aware of upcoming events. As the group is restrictive, it will be shared after each session.
Unfortunately, we do not have a Signal or Telegram group at the moment.
Yes! After each session, depending on the amount of participants who would like to stay for drinks, we usually go to a bar or café nearby and socialize.
There is a bar next to the spot called “En Public”, but if you have a place in mind, feel free to share it to the group.
