What is theatresports?
Theatresports is in the Netherlands the most played form of improv. It is made up by Keith Johnstone after seeing the enthusaism and involvement of the audience at a wrestling match.
Two teams challenge each other to play a short improvised scene or game around a theme. After each scene, judges will award points to the scene, for Content, Technique and Entertainment. After each round of 2 scenes, the audience gets to vote which team deserves an extra 5 points. The audience can also show their appreciation of a specific moment by throwing roses on the stage.
This makes the show for the audience very entertaining and exiting. However: the points don’t matter. It is all part of the show. If you want to learn more about the purpose of the judges, you can read a Manual. (Ask us for the even more detailed manuals if you want to learn all about judging and coaching).
